The location is perfect with the Madarao Kogen Ski Resort chairlifts right at the front of this Madarao Lodge (see map). If you are a family with young children it could hardly be more convenient. With 9 western rooms and 4 Japanese tatami rooms to accommodate 50 guest in total the lovely Annex Aburaya also boasts a hot public bath and ski gear rentals.

This lodge offers Western rooms with 2 carpeted stories (lower + loft), beds and a TV. Japanese-style rooms come with a tatami (woven-straw) floor and traditional futon bedding. All rooms have air conditioning, heating and an attached toilet, while bathing facilities are shared. Free Wi-Fi is available at the dining room, and a free-use washing machine is on-site. Discounted lift passes are available at the reception. Equipment rental is also available at low cost.
Pets are welcome at a charge at the property, which resembles a chateau. It offers a free shuttle service from/to JR Iiyama Station, and sells ski passes. The dining room is available for mini-concerts, and a big TV or a projector can be installed. Free parking is available.
A mixture of Japanese and Western food using local seasonal ingredients is served at the dining room. Discounted lift passes are available at the reception. Equipment rental is also available at low cost. It is a 5-minute drive from Madarao Onsen hot springs, and a 15-minute taxi ride from JR Iiyama Train Station.
